He found out that as the water was boiled and the steam rose higher in order to fill the radiator, the water also started circulating into the fins. This radiated heat in the entire room.

By the time it reached the 1900s, these one-pipe systems were replaced by two-pipe radiators where one pipe was required to carry water from the boiler to the radiator and the other to travel back to the boiler and repeat the cycle. These two-pipe or traditional radiators became highly famous and their popularity never died, which is the result why we used them till today.
